![]() John Hand graduated from Syracuse University’s School of Fine Arts in 1962 where he majored in interior design and fabric design. After graduation, he joined the Central Administration of the State University of New York/Construction Fund as the Chief of Interior Design for the educational facilities for the 30 odd Colleges and Universities under the jurisdiction of the State University of New York. Among these facilities were the State Universities at Albany, Binghamton, Stonybrook, Amherst as well as the Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse and the Downstate Medical Center in New York City. John retired from New York State after 30 plus years and has been involved for the last 15 years in the art world. Prior to moving to Bradenton, Florida, he was an active member and treasurer of the Colonie Art League in Colonie, New York. He has several workshops under his belt with Frank Webb, Skip Lawrence, Arne Lindemark, Judi Betts, Timothy Clark, Tom Lynch and Christopher Schink. His work has received numerous awards and international recognition. |
