BIOGRAPHY
Jamie was born in Washington, DC but lived in South
America for some time. She currently resides in Wyoming. She speaks Spanish,
Greek and some Chinese. She graduated from the University of Alaska at Fairbanks
in 2002.
After the death of her only child in 2003, Jamie began using her art and
writing skills to sustain her during this time of recovery. She expresses her
daughter’s death as leaving "a hole in my soul which I fill with my artwork and
writing."
In addition to painting, Jamie pursues her writing talents. She is currently
working on a screenplay YUPIK THUNDER which is about the Alaskan Eskimos during
the 1800’s, which Jamie states is an ambitious goal. She has written short
plays, three of which were included at the Last Frontier Theater Conference in
Valdez, Alaska in 2001,2003 and 2004.
Jamie's first play "THERE IS NEVER A REFERENCE POINT" was
produced February 2006, at the University of Texas in Dallas, Texas by Producer
Director Thomas Riccio.
Jamie has had only one print made of her artwork, the title of which is "Swan On
The Chena River Alaska". The last of the issue of 50 prints hangs in the office
of Governor Frank Murkowski in Juneau, Alaska.
