Don Harvie began painting in
watercolor full time after his retirement from the business world 14
years ago. He attended many workshops throughout the USA, and for the
past few years he has been concentrating on competition in national
shows. Harvie lives in California and states that it is art that motivates him to wake up at 5am every morning. He offers this advice to prospective artists "It really boils down to determination and hard work. If you find you enjoy (art) – oil, drawing, pastels, photography, pottery, you name it – why, just tell yourself to get to work and be the very best you can be." In the past three years Don’s work has been accepted in over 50 national shows, winning several awards along the way. A partial list of these national shows include:
