Artist Statement
Printmaking is the ultimate challenge because it's open to many possibilities and interpretations. The cutting and etching process is as important as the finished piece. Printmaking allows me to manipulate the wood or metal plate to achieve the right texture, color, contrast, etc.; to experiment beyond the traditional print processes; and to pursue my own personal vision. Most of my work is very structured, but I leave room for "happy accidents".
